British scientist’s research has shown that happiness is inherited! Experts from the University of Edinburgh succeeded to prove that the human’s level of happiness is determined by personality traits, while this factor vastly depends on genetic structure. When I learned about the results of this research some time ago, I was somewhat puzzled and surprised, because it turns out that the happiness of humans is almost completely depends on happiness level of their ancestors, and no matter how this people live their life. Therefore, I asked myself: “If my ancestors were unhappy, would I have to be miserable throughout life?” And I immediately found the proper answer: "Of course not!" Though experts believe that person’s well-being is little affected by such aspects of life as good income and steady job, but creating new friendly terms, commitment to ethical norms, love and close-knit family creation– all this makes us happier. Moreover, recent studies have shown that the human genome is changing throughout life, so it means that we all can affect on our descendant’s feeling of happiness that will be transferred to them with our genome! It's just amazing! People can take care of their children even before they are born! When we think happy thoughts, help people, positively perceive the surrounding world, requite love we change our DNA, creating new "tokens of happiness". In my opinion, this is one of the most inspiring researches made by British scientists, and everyone who know about it have to share it with others, creating people’s culture of well-being. If people will tend to be happier now, then sometime in the distant future, people will be born already happy!
I am grateful to British scientists for this one and many other interesting researches. Some of them can considered to be funny, some – even bizarre, but most of them were preceded by serious scientific work. And results of that work give us food for reflection, inspire people to do right things, stimulate the science progress throughout the world.
